Be aware that the
above measurements are for sizing purposes only and do not reflect actual
measurements of the garment. Please allow up to 1" variation in dimensions
of the garments.
HOW DO I TAKE MEASUREMENTS?
- Before you begin,
make sure you are wearing the undergarments that you will be wearing
underneath the garment you are taking measurements for.
- We recommend all
measurements be taken for the team by the same person (as people tend
to measure differently.)
- Use a standard,
cloth tape measure - which you can purchase at you local sewing supply
store.
- Once measurements
are taken, compare them to the sizing chart above (or the manufacturers
sizing chart associated with the garment you are sizing for). Select
the size that is closest to your measurements. It's recommended to go
larger if you have to becuase the garments can always be taken in. If
it's to small, you're stuck.
- BACK LENGTH - From
the nape of the neck (where the small bone protrudes), down the spine,
to the back natural waist.
- CHEST - Measure
around the fullest part of the chest, just under the arms.
- WAIST - It is IMPORTANT
that this measurement be correct. Measure at the natural waist - at
about the belly button where the waist is the smallest. This is the
natural point where skirts and athletic briefs are meant to be worn.
(Girls commonly wear skirts and briefs on the hips not at the waist.)
- HIPS - Have the
person being measured stand tall with feet together. Measure around
the fullest part of the hips.
- GIRTH - This measurement
is taken around the complete body. Start at the top of the shoulder,
across the fullest part of the bust, through the crotch, and up the
back to the oposite shoulder. Making sure the tape is snug and not sagging.
- INSEAM - This is
taken from the inside top of the leg at the crotch to the ankle bone.
- SKIRT LENGTH -
Measure from the natural waist (where the skirt waistband would sit),
to the bottom of the skirt's hem on the side of the body.
